Allright, did you know that filipino martial arts has it's own clinch-grappling and groundfighting? It's called Dumog, which translated means (surprise), "wrestling"! I'm gonna post a few of these over the next week because it's such a little known thing in Amurrrca. It's a fun treat to see how different traditions approach clinch and ground. Enjoy.

For y'all who want to play with more sinawali patterns. These guys are demonstrating somewhat static, I'm guessing so it's easier to pick out the stick patterns. But when you get the hang, start integrating your body into the movements, and footwork to zone around your partner. Remember edge safety as you do them. Accidentally hitting your arm, not a big deal with a stick. Could cut off a few inches of meat with a sword. |
